The Healthy Jacksonville Men’s Health Coalition is hosting a men’s health event, encouraging individuals to make the commitment to “man up” for their health.
The event will kick off with a “Blue Tie Sunday,” where men are encouraged to wear blue ties to church to raise awareness about men’s health. Men will also be encouraged to sign up for health summits based on their age at Florida State College at Jacksonville’s Downtown Advanced Technology Center based. A free Young Males Summit will be on Friday, June 17 from 4-7 pm for ages 13 to 18. The summit will include workshops, door prizes, food, music, games and hair cuts.
On Saturday, June 18 at 9 am, a free Adult Males Summit for those 18 and older will include health screenings, hair cuts, food, door prizes, workshops, massages and health grilling with Chef Kenny Gilbert, a Top Chef contestant. A simultaneous “Man Up Bike Ride” will kick off at 9am. The motorcycle ride will start at FSCJ Downtown, Advanced Technology Center, 401 West State Street. Registration 8am; kick stands up 9am.

The Healthy Jacksonville Men’s Health Coalition is a group of organizations and individuals concerned about men’s health. They envision “that men in the Greater Jacksonville area have equitable and timely access to affordable, safe and effective health care”.
