The State of Florida Department of Children and Families released its changes to current need standards based on the 2013 Federal Poverty Level Changes and Updated Consolidated Need Standards conducted by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.

For 2013, the national poverty guideline level for a family of four is $23,550.

These changes, set to become effective April 1,  affect the current need standards for Medicaid , Medicare and Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA), as well as eligibility for KidCare and other programs.

how can those in power give themselves a cost-of-living raise and dictate what a poverty level is. I barely exist on $12,612.00 per YEAR and in 2013 have become ineligible for my $16.00 per month of assistance.

I am lucky if I made $7,500 by the end of this year and its very hard for me to get assistance
