Twenty-five little ones and their parents graduated from Healthy Families Jacksonville on Thursday, September 26 at the Legends Center. Moms, dads and their children were presented with a certificate and gifts for completing the program.
The event occurs every year during National Infant Mortality Awareness Month as Healthy Families is a nationally-accredited family support and coaching program that helps parents provide the safe and stable environments children need for healthy growth and development. The evidence-based program is voluntary, and the participants receive the services in their home by specially-trained support workers.
The program managers Marsha Davis and Michael Skiathitis spoke to the graduating class on how even though the program may be over…the relationships that they have built with their family support worker will last forever. The support continues past graduation and the resources they have learned last a lifetime.
