February marked the official launch of the “Healthy Babies are Worth the Wait” website, a joint initiative designed to raise awareness about the importance of staying pregnant at least 39 weeks if a pregnancy is healthy.
The new website, www.39weeksfl.org, features separate content for health care providers and expectant mothers. Health care providers can access the March of Dimes’ Elimination of Non-Medically Indicated Deliveries before 39 Weeks Gestational Age toolkit, order Healthy Babies are Worth the Wait materials, and discover upcoming Grand Rounds and continuing education opportunities.
Expectant mothers and families can test their knowledge about the last weeks of pregnancy, locate resources on delivery options and premature birth, print questions to ask their health care provider, view an interactive due date calendar, sign up for Text4baby mobile alerts and order a Healthy Babies are Worth the Wait t-shirt.
The website also features an interactive blog, encouraging an open discussion forum for parents and providers. the blog provides in-depth content about how the last weeks of pregnancy contribute to a baby’s development in the womb, methods of easing pregnancy discomforts, national news and entertainment updates, personal interest pieces featuring parents around the state, tips for ensuring a healthy pregnancy and information on events statewide.
Help us spread the word by encouraging women you know to visit www.39weeksfl.org and to Think 39 Weeks!
