The Coalition elected its 2012 slate of officers and new Board and General Membership at its annual meeting last week. Linda Asay, JD, from Nassau County was re-elected to serve as Board Chair, along with Stephen Baker, PhD, who will continue as Vice-Chair this year. Long-time Board member Reverend Alton Coles was newly elected as Secretary, and Margaret Dodson was elected Treasurer.
New 2012 members of the Board of Directors include Catherine Hardee Drew from the Northeast Florida State Hospital in Baker County, Jeannie Bowles, a NICU parent from Duval County and Mary Jane McRae, RN, from the Clay County Health Department.
Healthy Start also expanded its Coalition membership with the addition of eight new constituents. They include Lisa Broward, Agency for Health Care Administration; Janice Hawkins, Sunshine Health Services; Cindy Neville, Brooks Rehabilitation; Bryan Hensley, Department of Children and Families; Dr. Vallie Holloway, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority; Cindy Sullivan, March of Dimes; Bruce Lavant, The Bridge of Northeast Florida; and Jenni Matusko, Episcopal Children’s Services.
The members of the Coalition vow to carry out the organization’s mission to lead a cooperative community effort to reduce infant mortality and improve the health of children, childbearing women and their families in Northeast Florida.
