Congratulations to our CEO Faye Johnson for being selected as one of 21 honorees for the Jacksonville Business Journal’s 2019 Women of Influence Awards!
Since Mrs. Faye Johnson took over as CEO of the Northeast Florida Healthy Start Coalition in 2016, she has grown the organization’s bottom line, staff size and impact on the community. In the last year, she was elected President of the Florida Association of Healthy Start Coalition, leading the statewide umbrella organization that develops and supports local systems of care to optimize the health of moms, babies and families. She has been an advocate for home-visiting services and families at the state and local levels – working with legislators, city council and media to address infant mortality, a sentinel indicator of a community’s health.
Here in Northeast Florida, she secured funding and partnership from Baptist Health, Florida Blue and UF Health Jacksonville to do the first ever review of all infant deaths in a calendar year. This critical dive into the root causes of infant mortality will allow our community to address deep-seated issues that affect our families and most vulnerable citizens across the region and ensure that EVERY baby has a healthy start in life.
