Feed the Children returned to Northeast Florida, this time visiting Clay and Nassau counties. Healthy Start Coalition staff, local volunteers, and other local groups participated in the event on January 16th.

Overall, more than 2,400 boxes full of non-perishable food, household products and personal items were distributed to families with children in Northeast Florida. This year Home Depot was an invaluable partner by donating a portion of their parking lot for drive thru pick-up distribution, moving palettes of food, and providing volunteers through their volunteer program, Team Depot.

Feed the Children events have previously been held at the Azalea Project in 2010 and Gateway Shopping Center in 2011 in Jacksonville. In March 2012, three simultaneous events were held in Duval, Baker and St. Johns counties. We sincerely thank Feed the Children for returning to allow our families this wonderful opportunity and all of our local partners and volunteers who were all pivotal to the success of these events!
