Healthy eating program for pregnant women featured on News4Jax

The Healthy Begins Before Pregnancy nutrition program was featured on the the News 4 Jax morning show on January 3, showcasing how the program has provided pregnant women with healthy food, prenatal vitamins and nutritional counseling to make sure they have a healthy birth outcome.

The program, funded by Second Harvest Food Bank, is managed by a registered dietitian, who is working with Shands Jacksonville to identify eligible women through OB doctors, the Shands women’s clinic, Healthy Start and NFP. All OB patients are pre-screened, and those identified as high risk are referred to and enrolled in the program
