The Northeast Florida Healthy Start Coalition is now accepting nominations for the Board of Directors and Coalition membership. Potential volunteers should have an interest in making sure every baby has a healthy start and be willing to attend quarterly (Coalition) or monthly (Board of Directors) meetings on the third Thursday of the month at 9 am. Specific areas of need include: a treasurer, young professionals and consumers.
The Coalition is also seeking a Treasurer. Ideal candidates will have experience in finance and will be able to hold membership on the Finance and Executive committees and, with staff assistance: propose an annual budget, present a financial report for the previous period at each Board and Coalition meeting and submit an annual audit performed by an independent accountant.
The Board and Coalition ensure organizational planning, goal setting and statutory mandates; manage the organization’s resources; promote the organization’s image; and assess and measure organizational performance, among other responsibilities.
