The free text message service that provides pregnant women and new parents with access to important health information is partnering to help uninsured kids get access to care. Text4Baby and Connecting Kids to Coverage, an initiative of the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare, are launching a partnership Febraury 28 to enroll 5 million children in state children’s health insurance programs like Florida KidCare.

The campaign encourages families who need health coverage for their children to apply for their invididual state program (apply for Florida KidCare here) and sign up for text4baby by texting “BABY” (“BEBE” for Spanish) to 511411.

Families are also encouraged to join the text4baby Facebook community to share experiences with Connecting Kids to Care and text4baby.

Organizations can hold enrollment events like strategy sessions, baby showers, press events, or even community fairs. Search for existing events or share the details with others in your community if you’re already planning one.
