Wolfson Children’s Hospital announced a $1 million grant from The Players Championship this morning to fund The Players Center for Child Health. The initiative aims to improve the health, wellness and quality of life of families living in our communities and will focus efforts outside of the Hospital.

Primary areas of focus include:

  • Prevention, utilizing WCH’s Safe Kids Northeast Florida program to address pediatric injury prevention;
  • Health and wellness, emphasizing asthma management and education among parents, children, educators and health providers through the Community Asthma Partnership at Wolfson;
  • Access to care, by increasing enrollment for those eligible for Florida KidCare;
  • Community education, addressing  childhood obesity by highlighting nutrition and exercise through Play 60, a partnership between WCH and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Players continues its commitment to giving back to the community and announced a goal of raising $50 million over the next ten years for Northeast Florida’s charities.
