Youth bicycle helmets, child restraint systems for vehicles and booster seats are exempt from sales tax in Florida beginning July 1, according to the state Department of Revenue.

To qualify:

  • Bike helmets must indicate on packaging that they are for use by youth.
  • Booster seats and restraint systems are exempt, however option components or accessories are still subject to tax.

Visit the Department of Revenue for more information.
