Jacksonville kids had the opportunity to get important health screenings, enroll in low-cost health insurance and meet Ronald McDonald at the Florida KidCare Enrollment Bash on Saturday.
At the back-to-school health fair, parents got their kids ready for the new year with screenings for blood pressure, vision, healthy weight, glucose and asthma and car seat safety checks and demonstrations.
Representatives from the Florida KidCare outreach program helped parents enroll their children in low-cost Medicaid and Florida KidCare health insurance for children.
The event was at the McDonald’s on the corner of Beach and University Blvds. It was sponsored by the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville and the Coalition.
The back to school period is a key time to enroll kids in affordable health insurance. The Florida Healthy Kids Corporation launched a campaign last week to make sure efforts are made to enroll kids.
