The Jacksonville Public Library’s Web page, “Link Up To Literacy”, provides parents with effective tools to help teach their child reading skills before they enter kindergarden.

On the Web page, parents can find a list of recommended reading for toddlers and preschoolers, as well as a guide to  recognizing early childhood developmental milestones.

It also features interactive “Fingerplay Videos” for children. The videos are a collection of sing-a-long songs such as “The Itsy Bitsy Spider”, “Old McDonald” and “Little Miss Muffet” performed by library employees.
