Stay Teen launches new birth control finder

The pill, the shot, male and female condoms — how do they work? Which is most effective? Does it require a doctors visit to get it? Stay Teen.org answers those questions and more with their new birth control finder feature. The tool includes a variety of methods, including not having sex at all.

The website from the National Campaign to Prevent Teen & Unplanned Pregnancy focuses on adolescent health and teen pregnancy prevention. The new feature is similar to one on the Bedsider website, which is another initiative from the National Campaign focused on young adults.

There are several filters for the birth control methods: most effective, prevents STI transmission, non-hormonal and don’t need a doctor visit.  It takes one click to find more about a method, like major perks and minor drawbacks.

The tool was designed to allow teens to explore different methods and figure out which one works best for them.
