The National Health Corps Florida is seeking interested agencies from Northeast Florida to host AmeriCorps members for a 46-week term beginning in September 2016. Applications to become a host site are due February 16th.
Created in 1994, the mission of National Health Corps (NHC) is to foster healthy communities by connecting those who need it most with health and wellness education, benefits and services, while developing tomorrow’s compassionate health leaders. To achieve this mission, each year the National Health Corps recruits, trains and places emerging health leaders in resource-limited organizations that aim to improve health outcomes.
The NHC Florida program is one four programs under the National Health Corps umbrella. Each program is a sub-grantee of the Health Federation of Philadephia, which is funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service. The National Health Corps Florida is administered locally by the Northeast Florida Healthy Start Coalition.
