Several Azalea Project participants graduated from Financial Freedom, a financial literacy training facilitated by War on Poverty‘s Ryan Jackson. Program participants met each week for five weeks for personal finance education classes covering topics including money matters, understanding credit, financial goals, pay yourself first, maintaining a checking account, automotive financing and renting vs. buying. The financial literacy class reflects the Azalea Project’s Life Course Model, which stresses health in all aspects throughout the lifespan. Since the program’s inception, over 100 project participants have received financial literacy education.
