The fifth annual Community Baby Shower was held September 25th for pregnant and new moms at Pearl Plaza, home to host the Magnolia Project and Healthy Start/the Community Programs Office. State Rep. Tracie Davis returned as event sponsor, with 200 families receiving information, education and supplies during the event.
The Baby Shower is held annually during National Infant Mortality Awareness Month to celebrate and connect families and providing resources to ensure babies and new moms are off to a healthy start. This year, the event was drive-through and included information and education; HIV screenings; pregnancy tests; COVID-19 vaccines; a food giveaway; healthy produce boxes and heart healthy education; Infant Mortality Awareness month information; and raffles for baby items.
Thank you to event sponsors JaxPort, Walmart and Publix and partner agencies Agape Community Health Center, Feeding Northeast Florida, Main Street America, the American Heart Association, Planned Parenthood, BEAM and the State Attorney’s Office.
