The Magnolia Project and Brentwood Lakes held the Harvest 2 Health Community Conference in October at the Brentwood Lakes apartment complex.

A total of 90 adults and 40 children attended. There were about 15 vendors present, from Shands Jax mobile van providing blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose testing to hair cuts from FSCJ to nails by Vanessa’s Nails.

The conference included a CPR demonstration from Safety First, door prizes and two Zumba instructors — one from Johnson Family YMCA and the other from Paks Karate.  The conference also provided a kids corner with a clown, face painting and other activities for the children.

The highlight of the conference was a comedian, Rocky the Comic, as the guest speaker. He incorporated health, wellness and other conference topics into his comedic routine.
