On Thursday, March 19 local agencies, non-profit organizations, child serving groups and families met in Hemming Park for the annual Jacksonville Children’s Week Advocacy Walk. After gathering remarks, the group of over 100 adults and children marched to the Jacksonville Landing for a resource fair and entertainment from Englewood High School Drumline and Community in Schools Jump Start Strings.
The resource fair was a new addition to the walk this year and attendees were able to receive valuable information and education about different local non-profit organizations. Children also participated in the reading corning and received a copy of a book.
The steering committee for the walk was headed up by the Jacksonville Kids Coalition.
