Leadership Academy Graduation: Fall 2022

Seven women graduated from the Fall 2022 class of the Make a Difference! Leadership Academy on October 4th. The Leadership Academy supports the efforts of local residents to make changes in neighborhood factors that contribute to disparities in health and birth outcomes.

The 12-16-week course teaches skills like public speaking and advocating for the needs of themselves, their families and the community. It has been an initiative of the Northeast Florida Healthy Start Coalition since 2011.

The Academy aims to change the trajectory of a community through the individuals trained and assisted in the development of a Community Action Plan. This plan outlines a specific project to move a community to action. For their community project, the graduates selected a get out the vote drive.
